PriceMyWork is a pricing intelligence platform for creative professionals — artists, makers, photographers, designers, and freelancers. It includes five free calculators and two AI-powered tools that audit your prices and generate market analysis for your specific medium. The goal is simple: help creatives charge what their work is actually worth.

All five calculators are completely free — no account required. The AI tools (Audit My Prices and Market Analysis) require a free account and include 3 runs per month on the Starter plan. Unlimited AI runs come with the Maker plan ($12/month) and Studio plan ($29/month).

Independent creative professionals who sell their work — whether through their own website, Etsy, at craft fairs, or through client commissions. This includes ceramicists, potters, jewelers, metalworkers, photographers, graphic designers, illustrators, textile artists, woodworkers, candle makers, leather workers, stationery artists, and many more.

The calculators work anywhere — you enter your own numbers and they're currency-agnostic. The market data benchmarks are currently US-focused. We're working on region-specific market data for Canada, UK, Australia, and Europe. In the meantime, international users can use the calculators fully and treat the market benchmarks as a directional reference.

Use the Hourly Rate Calculator. It walks you through your annual income goal, monthly living expenses, business costs, and hours worked to calculate your minimum required rate and a recommended target rate. The formula: (Annual income goal + Business expenses) ÷ Billable hours per year. Most creatives are surprised how high this number should be.

Use the Item & Service Pricer. Enter the item name, all materials and their costs, your time in hours, and your hourly rate. The tool calculates your cost (materials + labor + overhead) and a suggested minimum retail price. The correct formula: Price = Materials + Labor + Overhead + Profit margin. Enter your creative medium, experience level, location, hourly rate, and up to 5 items (name, price, hours). The AI analyzes each item and returns a verdict — FAIR, UNDERPRICED, or OVERPRICED — along with a plain-language explanation and recommendation for each. Your overall pricing health is scored out of 100. The audit also flags patterns across your pricing, like a consistent undercharge on labor-intensive items.

Market Analysis gives you a current market snapshot for your specific creative medium and experience level: price ranges from entry to premium, what the top earners charge, where your pricing currently sits relative to the market, key opportunities (growing categories, high-demand items), and risks (competition, cost pressures). It's designed to give you context for your pricing decisions, not just a number.

Etsy charges a $0.20 listing fee per item, a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus shipping, and a 3% + $0.25 payment processing fee. On a $50 sale, you pay approximately $0.20 + $3.25 + $1.75 = $5.20 in fees, keeping $44.80 before your material costs. Magic link login means you never create or remember a password. When you sign in, we send a secure one-time link to your email. Click it and you're authenticated. There's nothing to forget, nothing to guess, and nothing to leak in a data breach. It's faster and more secure than traditional passwords for a tool you might use infrequently.

Yes. We don't sell your data, don't share it with third parties for marketing, and don't train AI models on your specific pricing. Your data is stored locally in your browser and, for paid accounts, optionally synced to our servers in encrypted form. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time. Market data is aggregated from Etsy seller surveys, Faire marketplace data, independent maker communities, and self-reported figures from PriceMyWork users. It's updated quarterly and reflects current US market conditions. Rates vary by region, niche, and audience — use the data as a calibration tool, not an absolute benchmark.
